MOREHOUSE HIGH PARADE
A new MHS Reunion event was this symbolic parade intended to be reminiscent of the old Cotton Festival and Homecoming parades of the late 1950's-early 1960's. These parades offered the whole school the opportunity to broadly showcase its abilities, talents, skills, civic organizations, church groups, and "Can-Do" spirit regardless of the conditions of the time. There were many churches servicing the black community but there was only one free public school, and it was the heart of the community.
